Wakana Yamazaki, the renowned voice actress best known for her role as Ran Mouri in the anime series "Detective Conan" (Case Closed), passed away on April 18, 2026. She was 61 years old. Her talent agency, Aoni Production, announced the news on their official website and other platforms on May 15.

Ms. Yamazaki had only recently announced a hiatus from her activities in February of this year to undergo medical treatment, and many fans had been praying for her recovery and return to the industry. According to the agency's report, she breathed her last on April 18. Since the anime began broadcasting in 1996, Ms. Yamazaki voiced the nationally beloved character Ran Mouri for approximately 30 years.
