U.S. semiconductor giant Micron Technology has announced its withdrawal from the consumer memory and SSD business, discontinuing its long-loved "Crucial" brand. This decision stems from a strategic shift to concentrate management resources on the enterprise sector, responding to the explosive growth in demand for data center memory and storage driven by the rapid development of AI technology. The Crucial brand, which has been favored by PC builders and general consumers for 29 years, is scheduled to continue product shipments until February 2026, after which it will disappear from the market.
