November 15, 2024, marks 47 years since Megumi Yokota, then 13 years old, was abducted by North Korea from Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture. This prolonged tragedy has once again prompted heartfelt pleas for a resolution from her family and the Japanese public.
