On August 23rd, Okinawa Shogaku High School achieved a magnificent first-ever national championship at the Summer Koshien finals, defeating Nichidai Daisan High School. This historic victory was underpinned by the unparalleled fervent support of the people of Okinawa Prefecture. On the day of the final, at 9:55 AM, Route 58 in Kume, Naha City, was enveloped in an unusual silence, with vehicle and pedestrian traffic coming to a halt despite it being just before the match.
