Drunk Driver Kills Motorcyclist in Head-On Collision in Aichi; Turkish National Arrested
In the early hours of October 16th in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, a tragic accident occurred when a drunk driver, traveling against traffic on a national highway, collided head-on with a motorcycle. The 26-year-old man riding the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries, and police have arrested a Turkish national at the scene. According to the Toyota Police Station, the incident took place around 2:00 AM on National Route 248 in Toyota City. A passenger car was driving in the opposing lane when it struck a motorcycle. Shingo Kato, a 26-year-old company employee from Okazaki City who was operating the motorcycle, was rushed to a hospital but was later pronounced dead.
