Large-Scale Forest Fire Hits Otsuchi, Iwate: SDF Deployed and 1,000 Residents Evacuated
On April 22, 2026, a massive forest fire broke out in Otsuchi Town, Iwate Prefecture, creating a critical situation as flames spread to residential areas and prompted evacuation orders.
